Hagia Sophia, which was gifted to this ancient ummah as a mosque with the conquest of Istanbul by Mehmed the Conqueror in 1453, unfortunately, has been used as a museum for 86 years since 1934.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Hagia Sophia, which our nation and the Muslims of the world have been waiting for long time since that day, was finally reunited with the ummah as a mosque with the decision of the 10th Chamber of the Council of State on July 10, 2020 and the Presidential decree issued at the will of our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdo\u011fan.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Hagia Sophia, which the Mehmed the Conqueror gave as a gift to the ummah with the Friday Prayer on a Friday, will be opened for worship on July 24, like in the history.<\/span><\/p>\n The opening of Hagia Sophia, which was defined as the second conquest in the words of our President, as a mosque was welcomed not only in our country but also in the whole Islamic World.<\/span><\/p>\n Mr. President, by lifting the veil of hijab over the face of Hagia Sophia, you have achieved the freedom it deserves for this heroic nation’s eternal honor, the symbol of the Qur’an and jihad, a great symbol like a diamond in the world and a very large and antique relic of its swords. You have once again shown to our nation that you are worthy of this honor.<\/span><\/p>\n May your Conquest be Blessed.<\/span><\/p>\n Hagia Sophia has now been cleaned of dirt and has attained the place of worship it deserves.<\/span><\/p>\n With the opening of Hagia Sophia to worship, our State declared that it was sovereign in every part of our country.<\/span><\/p>\n Reopening of Hagia Sophia as a mosque has been the declared of our determination to the world.<\/span><\/p>\n The will of Mehmed the Conqueror was fulfilled.
