ASSAM is a strategic research center (SRC) with thematic areas of focus, which has been operating for over a decade. The fundamental interest of our center lies in seeking answers to the question: “How can a just and free world be established?” in the face of global injustices and imbalances. In the current global order, there exists a structure in which those deprived of power are unable to defend their rights. In this context, the solution lies in forming a unity of power to become an influential actor within global equations.
ASSAM conducts research on the theoretical foundations and practical implementation models of concepts frequently mentioned in the public sphere such as the “Union of Islam” or “Ittihad al-Islam.” It also develops solution proposals on how this unity can be achieved.
ASSAM’s fields of activity, objectives, and working methods have been institutionally defined, documented, and registered through its charter and regulations:
- In summary, ASSAM’s purpose: https://assam.org.tr/index.php/en/about-us/aim-of-assam-en.html
- The charter: https://assam.org.tr/index.php/en/about-us/association-regulation.html

As a result of comprehensive international efforts, ASSAM has developed a significant institutional body of knowledge. This accumulation was systematically shared with the public at the end of 2023 through its final declaration: https://assamcongress.com/model-asrica-confederation/2023-final-report-en.html
Within this framework, the ASSAM International Congress series—which we have been conducting over the years and will be organizing for the 9th time this year—represents an institutional continuity that cannot be considered separate or independent from previous congresses. As part of the “ASRICA Islamic Union Model – Seeking Solutions to Crises International Congress Series” covering the years 2024–2027, the theme of the 2025 Congress has been determined as: “Seeking Solutions to the Crises in the Region of Islamic States of Europe and Central Asia (Turkistan).” https://assamcongress.com/asrica-seeking-solutions-to-crisis/europa-and-central-asia-crisis-2025/congress-25-main-theme.html
All terms used in the congress declaration are included within ASSAM’s body of knowledge with their academic definitions. This body of knowledge has been developed since 2013 through international studies conducted by numerous esteemed and respected academics and experts. Within this accumulation, ASSAM has produced two primary models (governance styles) for the Union of Islam, and ongoing research aims to develop applicable methodologies for these models and, if necessary, construct additional ones.
ASSAM takes pride in being a principled strategic research center that does not drift with favorable winds, but continues steadfastly toward its goal even in the harshest storms.
